• Case Study with Daniel Smith:  Dr. Smith has been working with our trainees on a few CDC case studies such as 'Injury Surveillance'; 'Cigarette Smoking and Lung Cancer'; 'An Outbreak of a Neurological Syndrome Among Factory Workers'; etc.  He also teaches Amy and Jane statistical analysis and related software applications.

• Dr. Rick Kreutzer meets with Amy, Jane and Lixia every Monday from 11:00am to 12:00noon  to discuss the trainees activities, progresses etc.  Dr. Kreutzer is also helping our trainees with their technical paper writing.

• Attend presentations, seminars and meetings both on the DHS Richmond campus and Sacramento campus, some times they go to UC Berkeley Campus.

• Our trainees Amy Jiang and Jane Xiong also go to the Berkeley First Presbyterian Church on Sundays to attend their English class.  They are learning both English and the American cultures.  They enjoy the English class very much.

• Technical paper writing:  Even though this group of trainees only have 3 months studying here, they are also writing a technical paper as our previous trainees did.  Currently, they are doing the literature review to decide which topic to pick up.

• Culture Exchange Activities 

So far, our scholars Amy and Jane have visited the beautiful city of San Francisco China Town, Fishman's Warf, the Golden Gate Bridge, Coit Tower, Union Square and Market Street; UC Berkeley Campus; Tilden Regional Park; Angel Island;  Yosemite National Park.  We plan to visit the Monterey Language Institute in early October.
